Cool
Kids For A Cool Climate
| The Worldwide Forest | ![]() |
There are not many places in the world that couldn’t do with a few extra trees, but remember you must have the landowners permission and your tree planting shouldn’t spoil another special wildlife habitat (especially a peatland).
We want to hear about your tree planting and see photos too. You can set up a Cool Kids project in your country. Collect seed and create your own tree nursery. Then you can sell your seedlings to the polluters (car drivers, factory owners, oil companies, etc.) in your area. We want to see the Cool Kids forest spread right around the world. Contact us
Remember when you are planting your trees, tell your community what you are doing and why. Make them stop and think. If you need help with writing a press release Contact us
Where to Plant
You don’t have to come to South Yorkshire to plant a tree, we can plant trees in South Yorkshire on your behalf, you can plant them in your garden or help another tree planting project. Contact your local Council to find out what tree planting is taking place local to you. Make sure you have the landowners permission to plant a tree.
What to Plant
You should only plant native trees. These are best adapted to your climate and therefore most likely to succeed. Also more wildlife live in native trees. The wildlife has evolved over many years to live on those trees.
Where to Obtain Saplings
Buying saplings is not expensive but you can collect seed from local trees in the autumn for free. This may take longer to produce a tree but by collecting seed from local trees it is more likely that the trees you plant are native. Share your seeds with friends
